Spaces for socialize and collective life seem to have been forgotten: Being visible, building with meaning, identifying man; being inspired by the timeless, the intangible, the meaning on what exists, are the purposes of this work that seeks to fill the human senses and remain in the memory of men.
This project is conceived as a gateway between two separate worlds; a permeable, mediating space between two places that need to connect. The design is anchored in the context through its morphology and its symbolic-spatial content: Sinuous forms extend into the site and dictate its formality; the streets, public space, and adjacent buildings serve as a guide to connect the diverse coexisting languages through the design.
-
The cylinder as the cinema/theater: The circular shade structures between the park avenues and the pedestrian walkways are represented within the project as the cylinder; a meeting point, reference and endpoint of a main avenue “It is a direct connection with Maloka and its dome cinema.
-
The square volumes are shaded areas located at the meeting points of the pedestrian and bicycle route of the avenues; here they are the relationship with the spaces of permanence and social activity, they are topological continuity of the immediate buildings, they are the displacement of the points that converge in a single place.
The building's exterior and interior terraces, the relationship between vertical
and horizontal, the multiplicity of directions, the points, the lines and planes,
the up and down, the before and the after; it is a space in a time and place.
Within the building, diverse states, forms, and activities interact while colors, light, and shadow intensify emotions on the terraces. The project represents a direct relationship with time, with being and experience: Becoming part of a connection between existing spaces, serving as a point of articulation.
