COSTA RICA
l HOUSE
2 0 0 6
The architectural design of this house was developed, located in San José de Costa Rica. The requirements were to create a building that suited the sloping topography of the place + a strict brief of house´ spaces.
The vehicular access is semi buried in the ground while the pedestrian access is a few steps above the level zero. The main circulation of the house is a double height void while a bridge crosses it on the upper level distributing to the rooms; this vacuum in addition to achieving zenithal illumination achieves the chimney effect, allowing air to circulate better inside the place by keeping the house cool.
